Dhaval Parekh
Network Engineering Manager
What I do at Brivo
I lead Network Engineering at Brivo. We run the network underneath Brivo's cloud platform for video and access control, and we own services end to end: data center and colo networks, circuits, firewalls and segmentation, plus the Kubernetes networking we share with Platform Engineering and SRE Teams.
What that means if you join:
You own real infrastructure. Every service has an owner, an SLA and a documented catalog entry. You won't be closing tickets for someone else's system.
My job is to clear the path. I set the roadmap, choose vendors and architectures with the team, fight for budget, tooling and training, and keep project work from getting swallowed by operational noise.
We value rigor. Changes are planned, reviewed and documented. Incidents get a proper post-incident review, and we fix the cause, not just the symptom.
Automation is the default answer to toil. We monitor with Grafana and VictoriaLogs, and we're incorporating AI agents and MCP tooling into day-to-day network operations. You'll help shape how that works.
Why Brivo
I'd encourage you to apply if:
You've run production networks, not just labs. You've carried a pager, worked an outage, and know what a safe change window looks like.
You like owning things end to end. Here you'll design it, build it, monitor it, document it and fix it at 2 a.m. when it breaks.
You'd rather automate a task than do it twice. You don't need to be a software engineer, but you should want to script your way out of toil.
You're curious about AI in operations. We're putting it to work on real infrastructure, and you'll help decide where it helps and where it doesn't.
You can work from office. This role is onsite, so plan around that before you apply.
Before you apply, read the job description alongside the areas we own (see Role above) and pick one or two you'd want to own first. That's a great conversation to open with.
Who am I?
I've spent 19+ years in infrastructure, and I was an engineer before I ever managed anyone. I started as a network consultant at Insight (Calence), ran systems at Myspace, then spent 11 years at Hulu. There I grew from Systems Engineer to Senior Manager of Infrastructure & Networks across private and public cloud. At Cloudflare I led Edge Storage: hundreds of petabytes serving 3M+ requests per second. I joined Eagle Eye Networks in 2024 and stayed on through its merger with Brivo in December 2025.
I hold an MS in Electronic Systems Engineering from Arizona State University.
Advice for prospective candidates
Bring real stories. Tell us about an outage you debugged, a migration you ran, or a change that went wrong and how you rolled it back. What you checked and why matters more than polish.
"I don't know, here's how I'd find out" beats a confident guess. We'll keep going deeper until we reach the edge of what you know. That's on purpose, and it isn't a trap.
Show your automation instincts.Scripts, Ansible, Python, AI tools: tell us what you've automated and how you checked it was right.
Ask us hard questions. On-call, team size, what's broken today. You're interviewing us too.
